Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)?
A Psychiatric NP is a registered nurse with 2+ years of graduate-level training in Psychiatry/Mental Health with a Masters Degree and National Certification.
Psychiatric NPs have a similar spectrum of practice areas as a general psychiatrist and can prescribe the same medications.
I am Board-Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AANC) in Psychiatry/Mental Health and by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in Family Medicine.
What is unique about Tranquil Mind Telemedicine?
I want each client to get what they need - on a schedule and at a location that works for you. Too often clients are asked to run all over town or submit multiple requests to get basic tasks accomplished.
I look forward to:
- Providing virtual appointments at times that fit into your schedule, including weekdays and some evenings and weekends.
- Helping trouble-shoot problems quickly - this means getting your refill authorized at your preferred pharmacy ASAP and get back to you rapidly about other concerns.
- Considering your needs as a whole person - not simply someone taking medication. I have been in practice since 2013 and have valued caring for patients long-term through diverse life stages and challenges. I see the stress - and barriers to receiving care - that people face in daily life and want to make receiving care as easy and accessible as possible.
Why doesn't your practice accept insurance?
I want to spend time providing excellent care for you rather than on the phone with an insurance company. Insurance companies pose several barriers to providing the personalized care that I want each client of mine to receive.
That said, I understand that finances are often a major life stressor. If cost is a barrier to getting the care you need, please message me so we can work toward a solution.
